About Us

History of the Polk County Law Enforcement Memorial

The Memorial was built with private donations and officially dedicated on May 12, 1990, with 16 officers commemorated for their sacrifice.

As names were sadly added over the years, a second ring of pedestals was added during a site expansion in 2005 to accommodate future fallen heroes. Our prayer is that no other names will ever be added to the Memorial.

Today, a total of 33 law enforcement and corrections officers are commemorated on the Memorial. You can learn more about their service to our community and their End of Watch on the "Roll Call of Heroes" page.
